Viata Mea (2022)
Media type: short film Summary: It is cliché to say that we live in an increasingly overwhelming, fragmented and alienated society where much of our time has been monopolized by social media platforms designed to profit from arousing anger, jealousy and despair. But what these digital panopticons could instead create IRL moments of reciprocity and understanding?
Viata Mea follows Alina, a gig worker for a popular EaaS (Empathy-as-a-Service) mobile application that allows clients to rent actors to role-play family members, partners, friends, or otherwise for any type of platonic occasion.
